00:00:00.340 --> 00:00:03.440
Hi, my name is Ali and I'm 13 years old.

2
00:00:03.640 --> 00:00:08.780
The local people need healthy drinking water, safe water to drink.

3
00:00:09.260 --> 00:00:13.820
They get sick and they do not know where, sometimes they don't know where the

4
00:00:13.820 --> 00:00:14.040
sickness

5
00:00:14.040 --> 00:00:14.800
comes from.

6
00:00:15.380 --> 00:00:20.080
Lots of stomach issues and they get parasites and worms, so they really need safe

7
00:00:20.080 --> 00:00:20.620
drinking

8
00:00:20.620 --> 00:00:24.300
water and they also need to know basic hygiene.

9
00:00:24.500 --> 00:00:28.020
I think that having these groups come in, it really does help them.

10
00:00:28.020 --> 00:00:32.840
I think that they have less medical problems than they did

11
00:00:32.840 --> 00:00:34.080
before.

12
00:00:34.560 --> 00:00:40.140
The fact that we live on an island is interesting and the way we live and also

13
00:00:40.140 --> 00:00:42.260
all the outings

14
00:00:42.260 --> 00:00:47.200
you can go on like to the beach, to the back caves, you can go zip lining.

15
00:00:52.570 --> 00:00:58.130
There are so many other options to do and you can go snorkeling,

16
00:00:58.810 --> 00:01:00.890
you can go on lots

17
00:01:00.890 --> 00:01:01.390
of adventures.

18
00:01:01.390 --> 00:01:06.810
Here, if you were to get a knock on the door from your neighbor, it would be like

19
00:01:06.810 --> 00:01:07.610
for a

20
00:01:07.610 --> 00:01:13.570
machete wound, like somebody needs stitches or somebody needs some

21
00:01:13.570 --> 00:01:14.910
sort of medical attention.

22
00:01:15.450 --> 00:01:19.630
The other day, we were at a clinic and my dad was here and the lady came and she

23
00:01:19.630 --> 00:01:19.890
had to

24
00:01:19.890 --> 00:01:21.570
get stitches so my dad stitched her up.

25
00:01:22.410 --> 00:01:28.290
Before that, I think a guy cut himself in an axe and they stitched him up and, but

26
00:01:28.290 --> 00:01:32.070
He was alone in the jungle, chopped his big toe.

27
00:01:32.750 --> 00:01:38.130
I think it would be very interesting and educational for a kid

28
00:01:38.130 --> 00:01:41.590
from the states to come down and

29
00:01:41.590 --> 00:01:47.190
see what the people around here are like, what the climate, what the place is like,

30
00:01:48.810 --> 00:01:51.830
like better than what you'd learn at school.
